Intellectual capital and Turkey at process of being information society

The new age is the information era.While the past age?s sources was the physical assets, information age?s are the abstract and non_material assets as the potential energy and the collective brain power at the companies.While the physical capital reflects the past and today?s performances, the intellectual sources of the company shows the potential of the sustainable benefits of the future. At this new era , there is a need for a definition that cleans up the thick borders of the definition of capital and shows up the picture. In this new comprehension the capital of the company is discussed as two seperate parts as ?physical? and ?intellectual?. Physical capital represents the materialistic and physical sources of the company like land, factory, hardware, and cash. The intellectual capital is an abstract concept which means everything that known by the employees of the company and gives an advantage of competition. Patents, copyrights, brands as well as the abilities of the employees, practised processes and customer relations are the intellectual capitals. This thesis which aims to examine the situation of the intellectual capital of Turkey consist of four parts.At the first section it is shortly expressed the development of the concept of intellectual capital and the concept of intellectual capital. The aim of this section to exhibit the meaning of the human historical development of the manegement administration and summerize the transition to information society. At the second section it is aimed to make general briefing of the intellectual capital by the discussing the definition , elements, manegement, and surveying technics of the intellectual capital. At the third section the conception and of the intellectual capital at Turkey and the condition of intellectual capital are studied.At the fourth section aims to examine the defination of information society and economy and intellectual capital at Turkey. At the consequence section comments for the development of intellectual capital are studied.
