Computer aided of cam design and a sample of cam mechanism manufacturing

Cam mechanisms which have lots of using fields are faced with some problems in thedesign of traditional methods. Traditional design methods completely depend on the skill of thedesigner. Nowadays, the design of many items of the machines can be done more easily and ina shorter time by computer aided design methods.In this work, computer aided cam design program was developed for cam mechanismswhose exit unit does push movement. This program was written by using `Borland Delphi 7?program language. Getting the profile of cam and the graphics of the way, speed andacceleration that belong to cam drawn was aimed by this program. Also the design andmanufacture of a sample cam mechanism was done and the production of the handle of the filefrom wooden material was realized.It was seen that computer aided design program has important assistances to designer interms of speed and uprightness in the design of cams whose exit unit does push movement.Key Words: Computer Aided Design (CAD), pressure angle, cams manufacturing, cammechanisms.
