Abstract (EN)

Ethics has become an important subject in recent years. Ethics is everything about people's personal preferences, ritual, moral behaviors, and opinions. Ethics determines the appropriate and inappropriate behaviors of individuals taking into account the perspective of society. Learning and adoption of these behaviors by individuals depend on formal and informal processes. The most important process among these is the formal education process. One aspect of conveying ethical norms to the individual during the education process is to convey the scientific ethics that will be needed throughout the education life. The acquisition of scientific ethical norms may enable students to realize that the sources they use during their studies are a product of labor. In this respect, there are various concepts and values related to scientific ethics in the Social Studies program. Conveying these values to students is important for their future education life. The questioning of students' compliance with the values of scientific ethics is important in terms of revealing the achievement of the social program objectives. This highly important role and position of the teacher in the establishment of ethical values, regarded as sacred and respected in all societies, revealed the need to question the teachers' scientific ethics. Another important point is whether teachers behave in accordance with these norms in the teaching of ethical values in the education process. Therefore, it was important for this study to establish the ideal ethical perceptions of students about teachers and to determine the achievement of educational objectives in ethics. This study was designed by using mixed method research together with quantitative and qualitative research methods. In the first section of the study, the screening model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used to determine the students' opinions about the "first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth" subproblems. The opinions of 5th, 6th and 7th grade students about the compliance with the principles of scientific ethics and frequency related to 5th, 6th and 7th grade students who receive education in general schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education located in the central district of Adıyaman province and Social Studies teachers working in these schools were tried to be described as they are. In the second section of the study, in order to determine the compliance with the principles of scientific ethics by 5th, 6th and 7th grade students and the compliance of the behaviors of teachers with the principles of scientific ethics regarding the "ninth and tenth" subproblems, the phenomenology research design, one of the qualitative research methods, was used. The study group of this study consisted of 1002 individuals including 5th, 6th, and 7th grade students who receive education in general schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education located in the central district of Adıyaman province and 25 Social Studies teachers working in these schools. The collection of study data was carried out in two stages. In the first stage of the study, a standardized open-ended interview form was used to collect data from teachers. In the second stage of the study, the Scientific Ethics According to Students' Opinions Questionnaire, which measures the compliance of both teachers and students with the values of scientific ethics according to the perceptions of primary school students, was developed. The students' perceptions of scientific ethics regarding the results obtained in the study do not differ according to gender and grade. When the findings are examined according to the type of schools, it can be stated that this differentiation in favor of imam hatip secondary school students is caused by the density of the religious and moral values in the curriculum of this type of school. As a result of the study, it can be said in the light of the findings that the differentiation according to the Social Studies grade point averages is due to the fact that students with low school achievement are less careful about the principles of scientific ethics than those with high school achievement.
