Perception and experience of interactive and flexible placewhich is changing with information technologies

Developments in the information technologies have affected the social life and made some changes in people's lifestyles. Thanks to the addition of the information technologies, architectural spaces shaped according to changing lifestyles take on an understanding that uses mobility, flexibility, and interactivity effectively, is user- oriented and attaches importance to the perception and experience of the user. While the information technologies are transforming the spaces and tools of architectural design, they help the user to actively communicate with space. The interaction established between user and space ensures the user to perceive the space mentally and physically and thus to diversify the experience. In this context; kinetic, interactive and flexible space types which are changeable space types supported by information technologies are investigated; and the changes occurred in these space types and transformation of perception and experience that differentiates as a result of interaction with the user have been discussed by examining pioneer examples which are designed after 2000.
