Özet (EN)

Along with the needs and demands brought by lifestyle in the city centers, the technological development in the construction industry have accelerated the production of buildings. This situation has led to an increase in various sustainability concerns in terms of economic, environmental and social aspects. The understanding of sustainability within the scope of architecture is generally discussed in economic and environmental dimensions. However, the fact that people today spend most of their time in indoor spaces designed independently from natural outdoor cycles and environmental variables has led to the focus of recent research on the relationship between the built environment and people, thus coming into prominence the social and health dimensions. In this context, daylight, which is used as a design element in buildings, is gaining more and more importance. Daylight is an important sustainability strategy in the face of the problems caused by the energy consumption of buildings. It is also an important part of human life and an essential element for human health. Daylight, positioned between human, architecture and sustainability, plays a binding role on these concepts. However, evaluating the long-term relationship between daylight and human in architecture is a very complex situation in terms of variables. Accordingly, in order to understand the reactions to daylight, it is necessary to examine the daylight characteristics, user profile, building design, building usage purpose and other parameters affecting the building design. Establishing the right relationship between these parameters and adopting a holistic approach will be an important step in terms of sustainable design. In this study, the researches within the scope of the subject were examined, the relationship of people with the space was discussed in the context of sustainability and inferences were made on architectural design. As a result, a design approach developed in order to create the most effective daylight design possible in line with sustainability goals has been suggested.
