Özet (EN)

Energy efficiency is priority research topics because of limited energy resources and foreign-dependent. One of the places highest energy consumption is housing sector. In order to reduce energy consumed , energy-efficient design is given importance today in residences. Many studies have been carried out to increase energy performance in buildings, have entered the literature. One of studies is the use of phase change materials (PCM) that store thermal energy. The use of PCM is within the scope of priority research topics. Within the scope of the study, using PCMs on the exterior walls of the buildings was examined for energy efficiency. So, energy scenarios were created by using simulation program "DesignBuilder". The most effective design was determined according to these scenarios. In addition, environmentally friendly approaches have been introduced the reduction of carbon emission rates as a result of the reduction in energy consumption values. In thesis, it is aimed to benefit from solar energy by using FDMs. From the analysis results, it has been obtained that type of used PCMs and their location in building wall have effective role in the annual heating and cooling energy gain. It has been revealed annual cooling energy gain of InfiniteRPCM21C is 18.99%, annual heating energy gain of BioPCM27/Q21 is 21.32%. As a result, it has been concluded that using of PCM in buildings contributes significantly to reducing consumption costs by increasing energy efficiency. It is thought that this thesis study will contribute to both national and international literature and the sector.
