Abstract (EN)
Culture is transmitted through tradition. Additionally, it should be indicated that the tradition comes to life with tangible products and oral narrations. Traditional occupations reveal the tangible dimension of culture. Handicraft-related occupations, which have an important place in the cultural memory of nations, provide cultural transmission through their traditional practices. This study, titled "A Folkloristic Study on Occupations in Bingöl" has been prepared for the occupations reflecting the local economy that have been carried out in this city for centuries. This study consists of three sections: In the first section, brief information about the history of Bingöl is given. Besides the definition, purpose, and importance of the study, the scope and limitations are also determined. The second section is devoted to drawing a conceptual framework for traditional occupations and making an evaluation in terms of intangible cultural heritage and cultural tourism. The contribution of these occupations to the tourism of the city is handled. The third section includes the information obtained from the interviews with the masters. The experiences gained from the masters are evaluated, and the traditional dimension is investigated. It includes evaluations about the past, present, and future of the traditional occupation.
