Bi̇ngöl kenti̇nde peyzaj düzenlemeleri̇nde kullanilan bi̇tki̇ türleri̇

In this study, public parks located in Bingol city and larger over 2000 m2 were surveyed and plant diversity in these parks was recorded. A total 13 parks were chosen to survey and their names are Aydınsu, Bediüzzaman Said Nursi, Dörtyol, Hulusibey, Simani, Karşıyaka, Kültür, Mehmet Çibuk, Rabia, Uydukent 1, Uydukent 2, Üçgen and Zafer Çağlayan. Each park was separately surveyed and number, length, canopy width, bloom color, flowering time, flower odor, trunk type, leaf color in fall, tip type and defoliation of plants were recorded. The most encountered plants species were Platanus orientalis (Doğu çınarı) and Prunus ceracifera (Süs eriği) in the parks. Platanus orientalis (Doğu çınarı)was chosen due to its good shading properties while Prunus ceracifera (Süs eriği) was chosen to its dark burgundy leaf color. Each and every park contained woody or shrub-type ornamental plants but seldom rarely fruit shrubs and trees. Total areas of the parks located in the Bingol city is around 90.000 m2, however, this number is very low taken into account square meters of green space per capita.
