In accordance with the demand of recreation areas, the preferences of the people who will use the location and the features expected by people in this location, are so significant. Therefore, the study aimed that requirements of the recreational area users at Bingöl University and the proficiency of the recreational activities which was carried out, can be determined by analysing. The survey study was carried out to be learned the perspective of students, academic and administrative staff of Bingöl University toward recreation, to be detected their recreation preferences, perceptions and opinions in regard to areas, and to be determined their requirement during use of these areas. The results obtained are aimed to be a source for researchers who will study on this issue and all persons, institutions and organizations who will be involved in recreational area planning processes at Bingöl University in the future. This study was carried out within the context of relational model based on quantitative research method. While the basis of the study consisted of 15713 students studying, academic and administrative staff at Bingöl University, the sample of the study consisted of 612 females, 890 males and 1502 participants in total. In the sample selection of the study, sample method was preferred among non-incidental sample methods. The significance of the study in terms of issue is that in addition to demographic information, violence, fear and the status of family and other individuals were fallen under the issue as a whole. The whole of the study was vii constituted by being included themes like socio-economic status of individuals, gender and other personal factors. Consequently, it appeared that violence and fear are dominant on females in the same direction with similar studies as an obstacle for recreational activities. Lack of friends is one of the other factors that have the most impact on the problems. Additionally, there are similarities that will be able to create negative consequences within the other demographic information of individuals. SPSS 21.0 programs were used in the analysis of the data. Distortion (Skewness) coefficient was used in the normality test of the scores. The ±1 limits of the distortion coefficient are used in the normal distribution characteristic the points obtained from a continuous variable can be interpreted as not showing a significant deviation from the normal distribution. Both non-parametric tests and parametric tests can be used by providing their normal distribution with square root, logarithmic or reversal methods for non-normal points. When gender, marital status and licensed athlete status were compared with variables, because scale and lower dimension scores were normally distributed; from two independent sample t tests; when comparing age, occupation, monthly income level, frequency of use of parking and recreation areas (days and hours), and being adequate of recreation facilities at the university benefited from one-way variance analysis (ANOVA). When the ANOVA test showed a significant difference between the groups, the LSD post hoc test was used for binary comparisons to determine the difference was among which groups The level of meaningfulness in the analyses was determined as 0.05 (p.0.05). The results of this study showed completely similar to the results of the study of Güler (2017), Ozsoy (2018), Kalkay (2019), Ok (2019), Rye (2019); that there were partially similarities with other study results, it has been concluded that, in general, participation in recreational activities can be varied according to the circumstances of individuals, gender, age, marital status, income level doesn't have a decisive impact and the most significant factor is the lack of sport areas
