In our study, animal concepts of Bingöl region in Zaza language

Bingolis locatedin theEastern Anatolia regionof Turkey.Bingöl provinceis known for itsnatural beautiesandplateaus. The majority of thepopulation intheprovince of Bingolconstitutes from Zaza people.Zaza people have livedintertwined withnature since ancient times. They haveespecially dealt withagriculture and animal husbandry. Therefore,animal husbandry and agriculturehave affected boththeir materialandspiritual cultureandhadan important placein theculture. We can clearly see that animal husbandry is deeply interpenetrated in traditionsand customsespeciallyin thespiritualculture. In Our study,AnimalConcepts ofBingolregion in Zazalanguage, we discussedanimal names in zaza language, namesof instrumentsanditemsused infarming,shepherds, concepts related toshepherdingand herd, the names of animal shelters, illnesses of animals,concepts related tobirth and death of animals, names of animal products, hunting concepts, transhumanceconcepts,terms related to animal husbandry, idioms, proverbs,fablesamples andgeneral information about animal husbandry andinvestigationswere carried outon these. We got lots of visuals, information, terms and words by analyzing face to face interviews which have been done in Bingöl plateaus with people who does animal husbandry. We believe that this study will eliminate lots of deficiencies about animal husbandry of Zaza people because it contains many areas. Dictionary browsing is done in scope of this study, too.
