Abstract (EN)
Offshore wind energy is a powerful renewable energy source. The floating platform systems are being developed to increase the capacity of installed wind power, and take advantage of the high wind energy potential on the global high seas. This study is focused on the design of an offshore floating platform system and on hydrodynamic analysis of the platform mooring system for 5 MW a reference wind turbine.Floating platform system design is shaped taking into account design conditions and requirements. The hydrodynamic model has been developed and mathematical formulation determined for the hydrodynamic analysis. Behaviours of the floating platform and the mooring system for different wave heights is analyzed in the computer program under different mooring (catenary, taut catenary, tension leg) system.Key Words: Renewable energy, wind turbines, offshore platforms, mooring system, hydrodynamic
