Abstract (EN)

Criticism, emerging as a literary genre in Turkish literature in Tanzimat Reform Era, turned into a genre in which various theories are used beginning from 1950s. Berna Moran has an important place within the scholars of academy that attempt to provide an objective dimension for criticism by using different theories and methods. In this study, organized as four chapters, Moran's studies regarding Turkish literature has a central place. Throughout this study, the basis of Berna Moran's criticism is attempted to be defined departing from his life, education and the people that influence him. Additionally, Moran's notion of criticism and his method of criticism is examined considering at what points and to what extent he implemented his views on criticism on his works and his standpoint regarding criticism methods occupying an important space in his studies using his opinions and practices in his books, Edebiyat Kuramları ve Eleştiri and his three-volume Türk Romanına Eleştirel Bir Bakış, as well as his style. Furthermore, Moran's opinions on criticism and the critic is mentioned based on his essays and articles in Edebiyat Üzerine: MakalelerRöportajlar; and his notion of criticism and his method of study is scrutinized considering his method of study, the structure of his texts, and his style.
