Sunbul Sinān Efendi's Risāla al-Tahqīqiyya as an example of preference and takhrij a fatwā

This thesis, it is worked on Sunbul Sinān Efendi's Risāla al-Tahqīqiyya, the founder of Sünbüliyye branch of Halvetî sect on 15th and 16th century, with the aim of assessing the work in terms of fetwa method. Our study consists of an introduction and three chapters. In the introduction, it is mentioned about the topic, importance, purpose, hypothesis and sources of the thesis. In the first chapter, Sunbul Sinān Efendi's life is written out in detail and his works are introduced. While introducing his works, it is mentioned about his testament that we couldn't see in the sources. In the second chapter, the translation of Risāla al-Tahqīqiyya is made, the numbers of verses from the Quran in the text are shown and takhrij of hadiths are made. Also, sufic statements in Risāla al-Tahqīqiyya are classified. Lastly in the third chapter, Sünbül Sinan's methods that he preferred about fatwa system of Hanafî doctrine and tabaqât al-fukahâ are included.
