TECHNO-ECONOMIC ANALYSIS OF A PHOTOVOLTAIC SOLAR POWER PLANT; KÜTAHYA – SIMAV CASE STUDY Muhammed Said GÜNDÜZ Mechanical Engineering, M.Sc. Thesis, 2019 Thesis Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Mustafa Arif ÖZGÜR SUMMARY The demand for renewable energy sources has been increasing in addition to the production of energy depended upon fossil resources in both our country and the world. In our country and world in both of which fossil resources are limited, increasing demand for renewable energy has become inevitable.Taking the need for energy and location of our country into consideration, producing electrical energy from solar energy is one of the most important options for Turkey. In this study, Energy production methods and the total shares of our country in this production have been analysed. Additionally, the position, share and potential of solar energy in our country have been evaluated and the procedures which are necessary for establishing a new sample solar plant have been narrated and techno economic analysis for this plant has been conducted. In the study, production datas of a solar energy plant which was launched in a previously determined area with PvSyst v6.6.8 Demo software has been compared. As a result of the calculations being made, when the datas obtained from PvSyst v6.6.8 Demo software are compared with the real production datas, %10.58 of variance is obtained and in other words, by using third part of softwares, approximately 25 years of analysis of a solar plant can be calculated with accuracy of %89,42. This ratio shows that theoretical calculations of a solar plant in comparison to other energy types can be detected in an almost absolute ratio.
