Political Zionism as an ideology

The relationship between Zionism and ideology will be examined and the position of Political Zionism in political ideologies will be debated in this study. Ideology as Enlightenment product is one of the most important concepts of social science and ideology is a concept with a wide range of definitions. Ideology assumes that an important responsibility at the point of ruling the masses and states, with the participation of the individual and its concern in all areas of activity. The Jews, who have lived far from the land where they were exiled for centuries, lived with the belief and dream that one day they will return to the promised lands. As a matter of fact, according to the holy sources of jews this will be possible only with the coming of the messiah. Jews who live by voluntarily adhering to this belief have begun to question the idea that the return to Zion (Zionism) which were put forward on the increase of the bad treatment they were subjected in the diaspora. Especially in the 19th century when the ideology of nationalism made itself felt, they were influenced by the socio-political movements that developed around the idea of the nation state. The Zionism, which defended by Theodor Herzl with the claim that the Jews would no longer be saved from this crisis however would be possible with the establishment of a Jewish state, started to attract more attention than ever before and gained the meaning of ideology. This movement he has been accepted as Political Zionism. It is very important to define Political Zionism, the founding ideology of the Israeli state, whose existence in the Middle East is constantly discussed and does not fall off the agenda with its inhuman policies. At this point, when the principles, discourses and programs of the "Jewish State in Zion" movement are compared with the characteristics, definitions and theories of the concept of ideology, it is possible to make the evaluations that Zionism is an ideology and that it is intertwined with the ideologies of nationalism and fascism from political ideologies.
