Examination of a women's narrative in terms of folklore

In this study, the narrations of a female narrator coded as K1, within the framework of the events that took place around her and her family in her youth were discussed. All of the narratives K1 performed were evaluated as the expression of her personal memory as it has been shaped by her life-long knowledge, experience, feelings and thoughts within a general framework of age and gender characteristics. These narratives have been studied as a reflection of the common cultural memory and examined in terms of content, function, meaning and structure. The narratives of the source person took place in the form of life sharing on the axis of knowledge, experience and emotion in the context of natural communication that was formed specifically for the narrator-listener/compiler; all of the narratives were evaluated as a single text and named as K1 Narrative Text. This study consists of three chapters. In these chapters, the narratives were analyzed in the form of personal dimension, social dimension and word (narrative) dimension with a context-centered aproach. In the first chapter, K1 Narrative Text was defined as an oral culture narrative. In the second chapter, the characteristics of narrator and listener and performance contexts were examined and their effects on the formation of narratives were evaluated. In the third chapter, K1 Narrative Text was analyzed in terms of content, meaning, structure and function.
