Initial coin offering as a crowdfunding type: A legal evaluation

Crowdfunding is a new generation of funding that allows a large number of people who cannot make a significant impact on their own, to make an attempt with small sums, to fund or donate through internet sites. This system, which aims to provide a regular investment environment by facilitating the access of entrepreneurs to the masses and the entrepreneurs through the Internet sites, is a financing method that prepares the ground for realization of big projects as a result of small investments, which eliminates the problems of project owners and venture companies in accessing finance. Accordingly, with the amendments made to the Capital Market Law no. 6362 with this regulation introduced for our country, legal infrastructure has been established in relation to crowd funding.
