Abstract (EN)
In order to prevent work accidents and occupational diseases as severe problems of public health, our priority must be to optimize the involving parties' education to the highest level while keeping them up-do-date with respect to the cutting-edge developments in their pertinent fields. The purpose of these studies is to diagnose the manners and behaviours of these vocational school students regarding the issue at hand, as well as to draw attention to this very subject. For this purpose, a survey is given to high school students undergoing occupational and technical training, where the results are evaluated in accordance with the Occupational Healh and Safety (OHS) educational standards. This survey is given to 286 first and last year students out of a total of 454 of them. When it comes to the issues of work and health safety, this study establishes the fact that the final year students have broader knowledge than the first year students.Whereas this fact generates differences among the higher classes' levels of consciousness, its efficiency to reinforce positive behaviours remains a controversial matter. The students attending vocational high schools start participating in business life by doing internships & experiencing similar working environments . Even when the students undergoing vocational and technical training lack theoretical knowledge, the practical applications of the training that they experience at workplaces and ateliers are expected to enable them to develop high OHS-consciousness. The OHS training should be offered throughout educational life, should be structured in a way that complements the theory and its applications.
