As a social application 112 emergency call center: Example of Yalova province

Abstract (EN)

In this study, the definition, the development and the providers of social services in Turkey were discussed. The following general directorates are affiliated with the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Services and performing their duties within the framework of the legislation: General Directorate of family and Social Services, General Directorate Of Child Services, General Directorate of Disabled and Elderly Services, General Directorate Of Women's Status, General Directorate Of Social Assistance and General Directorate Veterans and relatives of Martyrs. The definition of social services and in-kind and cash assistance under the scope of social assistance are compared with the social services and social assistance. The Emergency Call Centre (112) in Yalova province has started to serve as a public service as of November 3, 2015. The historical developments of these services in the world and Turkey are discussed. The number of calls of the institutions received before and after the date they are gathered under 112-Emergency Call Centre has been examined and compared. It is stated why the number of unnecessary calls has dropped. In this study, regulating legislation for the establishment and functioning of 112-ECC has been listed too. The starting dates and the services provided by the institutions serving under 112-ECC services which are 110 Fire Department, 112 Medical Emergency, 122 AFAD, 155 Police, 156 Gendarmerie, 158 Coast Guard and 177 Forest Fire were discussed. The results of the study are expected to contribute to future studies.
