Goals: This research has been done to investigate perfectionism and self esteem levels of groups before and after graduation in a medical faculty, and factors related to these levels. Materials and Method: This article which planned to be a descriptive cross-sectional study has been done between feburary and march of 2021, using a survey among medical students and doctors working in İnönü University Turgut Özal Medical Center Hospital, who accepted to join the study. According to the power analysis, the minimum number of people required reach 95% confidence interval and 80% power is 196. A survey which containts sociodemographic attributes(which was formed by scanning relevant literature), frost multidimensional perfectionism scale(FMPS), rosenberg self esteem scale(RSES), was used to gather data. Analysis was done in SPSS packet software. Findings: 95(42,6%) non-graduate and 128(%57,4) graduate, 223 in total participants were involved in the study. Average age of the participants is 27,7±5,4 (min=20-maks=49). Average age of non-graduate participants is 23,7±2,0 and average age of graduate participants is 30,7±5,2. The diffirence is detected to be significant(p<0,001). Woman rate in non-graduate participants(52,6%) is significantly less than woman rate in graduated participants(68,8%). (p=0,014) The total FMPS score in non-graduated group is significantly higher than gradutated group. (p=0,015) As all participants' FMPS scores were compared all together, the male participants' total score is higher than female participants' total score, the unmarried participants' total score is higher than the married participants' total score, the pre-clinic students' total score is higher than internship students' total score, total score of particiapnts who have less than 3000 TL montly income is higher than the total score of participants who have more than 8000 TL montly income, total score of participants who live alone is higher than the total score of participants who live with their family, significantly. (p<0,05) Conclusion: Because the fact that the medical facultiy has tought and long working conditions both before and after graduation, it requires high perfectionism and self esteem to venture these difficulties. But these perfectionism and self-esteem may change in time and as the doctors meet patients. Starting clinical practice in first years of medical study and increasing such lessons may help to lower this change.
