Abstract (EN)

Objective: The study was carried out to examine the effect of the work life quality and religious coping levels of nurses working in a university hospital on their work life quality. Method: The research is descriptive, cross-sectional and relationship-seeking. The sample of the research consisted of 400 nurses working in a university hospital. Data were collected with the "Personal Information Form, Religious Coping Scale and Professional Quality of Life Scale".Data were analyzed using number, percentage, mean, standard deviation, median, minimum, maximum values, Student-t test, One-Way ANOVA, Kruskal Wallis Analysis of Variance, Pearson Correlation and Multiple Linear Regression tests. Results: The mean age of the nurses was 30.08±6.19 years and the professional experience was 7.57±5.7 years. More than half of the nurses (59.5%) were female and 38.8% were undecided about their satisfaction with their job. The participants' Quality of Life Scale occupational satisfaction sub-dimension was 23.90±7.26, burnout sub-dimension was 20.52±5.26, and co-sensory fatigue sub-dimension was 16.58±7.54 points. The positive coping sub-dimension of the Religious Coping Scale was 23.05±3.72 points and the negative coping sub-dimension was 6.79±2.48 points. A statistically significant difference was found between the three sub-dimensions of the quality of life scale according to job satisfaction, professional willingness, health perception, and weekly exercise time (p<0.05). A statistically significant difference was found between positive and negative coping sub-dimensions according to gender (p<0.05). In regression analysis, being female, having high job satisfaction and having good sleep quality were found to significantly predict the Quality of Life Scale for Employees (p<0.05). Conclusion: In this study, a positive relationship between positive and negative religious coping and job satisfaction was found. It is recommended to increase job satisfaction and good sleep quality and to make plans to improve the quality of life of male nurses. Practices to increase nurses' positive religious coping behaviors and decrease negative religious coping behaviors may be useful in improving quality of life.
