Comparison of the nutritional attitudes of the security staff in A university and workers in A workplace

This research was carried out with the voluntary participation of 194 people in Bolu in order to compare the nutritional attitudes of the workers working in a sawmill in Bolu and the security guards of Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University. The demographic characteristics, anthropometric measurements and nutritional attitudes of the participants were investigated. The Attitudes towards Healthy Eating Scale (TAHES) was used to measure nutritional attitudes. 24% of the participants were female and 76% were male. The participants' emotion scores for nutrition were found to be 18.13±4.75 for sawmill workers and 15.94±4.77 for security guards. It was observed that the sawmill workers were more likely to show emotional feeding behavior. (p<0.05) There was no statistically significant difference between the two occupational groups in terms of other factors. Among the participants, the obesity prevalence of security guards was 8.25%, while the obesity prevalence of sawmill workers was 18.56%, which was significantly higher than that of security guards. (p<0.05) It was determined that there was no statistically significant difference between male and female participants in terms of TAHES sub-factors and obesity frequency.
