Investigating the association between the level of existential anxiety and the interpersonal relationship dimensions

The aim of this study is to understand the relationship between existential anxiety level and interpersonal relationship dimensions in individuals. Existential anxiety scale and Scale of dimensions of interpersonal relationships were used in this research. Reliability and validity studies have been completed for both scales during the development stage. 491 adults participated in the study. 299 of the participants were female and 192 were male. The data has been processed through SPSS Windows 25 software. Correlation and regression analysis are supported with the reflections of the demographic information collected. The hypothesis and the sub-hypotheses were examined in detail with a holistic approach. The semantic journey of anxiety with the content used in existential psychotherapies, chronologically starting with the analytical basis that deals with anxiety with its neurotic dimension is the conceptual framework the study is trying to convey. It was aimed to reflect how the human dimension of the therapeutic relationship was shaped throughout the years, the study aims to provide a background on how anxiety was understood and addressed by theorists and effected by the dominant perspectives of the era. The evaluation of the research findings based on the conceptual background to obtain a holistic result has been predicted. Due to the pandemic conditions, all scales and demographic data forms were sent to the participants over the internet. Only the participants who filled the forms completely are included in the study. Incomplete forms were deleted. All answers are collected anonymously. The personal information is not processed. While the personal data cannot be matched with the answers, the data collected were obtained in a way that can be tracked whether it is answered by real people. The scales were sent as a single questionnaire and then the data were processed separately for each participant for the SPSS analyses.
