Abstract (EN)
Objective: This study was conducted to examine the relationship between individuals' attitudes towards vaccination, religious orientation level and fatalism tendency. Method: The research was conducted in a descriptive and correlational design. It was conducted with 415 individuals in Sakarya province between December 2022-June 2023. Attitudes towards vaccination scale, religious orientation scale and fatalism tendency scale were used in our study. The research data were analysed using SPSS 22.0 and G*Power 3.1 programmes. Results: The results of the analysis of the hierarchical regression models conducted to reveal the effect of religious orientation level and fatalism tendency on the level of attitudes towards vaccination show that the model is significant and usable (F(2,412)= 11.695, p=0.001). In the regression model, when the t-test results regarding the significance of the regression coefficient were examined; it was determined that the increase in the level of religious orientation (t=3.511, p= 0.001) and the decrease in fatalism tendencies (t=-3.803, p= 0.001) of the participants caused a statistical increase in the level of "attitude towards vaccination". Conclusion: In our study, it was found that the increase in the level of religious orientation positively affected the attitude towards vaccination, while the increase in fatalism tendency negatively affected the attitude towards vaccination. It is recommended that the study be conducted in different religions.
