Abstract (EN)
In the summer of 1918, it was understood that the First World War would result in the victory of the Entente States. The Ottoman Empire was among the defeated. The public wanted a cease-fire and peace as soon as possible. With the withdrawal of Bulgaria from the war, peace became a necessity. All the newspapers of the period were in favour of peace. The basic discussion was on the quality and cost of peace. The press initially supported the joint peace option, with Germany and other allies, believing that joint action would reduce the cost. However, the individual peace option gained weight, especially on the grounds that the problems stemming from Germany delayed peace. In this regard, the Mudros Armistice was signed with the British and the war ended for Turkey. At the same time, relations with Germany were also severed. While the newspapers were watching this process, they made retrospective inquiries from time to time. The most important topics of discussion were as follows: Why did the Ottoman Empire enter the war and why did it side with Germany? Who is/are guilty of this war? In this study, the course Turkey-Germany relations in the last quarter of 1918 through the prism of the newspapers, Ikdam, Sabah and Tanin as well as the quality and the nature of the relationship is intended to be discovered through erstwhile discussions. At the same time, the tendency of the public was pursued by tracing the course of the publication policy followed by all three newspapers.
