Abstract (EN)
Destruction force of weapons had also reached an unprecedented size in parallel with the rapid development of their technologies. Both rate of fire and ranges of rifle, machine gun and artillery, products of new technology, had increased. It was necessary for soldiers to be sheltered before combating, soldiers in the face of murderous weapons that before mentioned. In this context, military units necessarily took shelter behind. Trench warfares set their seal on the First World War, the war of many novelties. As never before in no war, trench warfares extensively were done on every front. There was also a similar situation to the fronts, on which Ottoman Empire made war. For Turkish soldiers, trench warfares and trench life began in conjunction with the entry of the Ottoman military units into trenches. Turkish soldiers, from commanders to privates, were obliged to maintain their daily personal life together with military activities on every front. Everything about the life of Turkish soldiers, things like eating-drinking, clothing, health, cleanliness, sleeping, worship, entertainment and experienced difficulties about their mood were tried to study by using archive documents and other resources.
