The effects of United Nations Security Council resolutions on Palestine-Israel peace process

United Nations, which has been playing an active role since the beginning of Palestinian-Israeli conflict, has set a road map with the decisions it has taken to resolve the issue. However, the Israeli government has been causing the problem to remain unresolved by not implementing decisions that were taken in the UN Security Council for Israeli-Palestinian peace process. The attitudes of active states in UN Security Council, especially USA, help keeping the issue unresolved and non-execution of related decisions. The aim of this thesis is to analyze the role of the decisions taken in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict by United Nations Security Council, which has been the main organization for the maintenance of international peace and security. During the research stage of thesis, literature screening was performed regarding the decisions of UN Security Council for the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and the obtained findings were explained in four parts of the thesis. In the first part of this thesis, it was tried to reveal the role of the United Nations in the maintenance of international peace and security with reference to the functions of international organizations. In the second part, the historical background of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict were examined. In the third part; within the framework of Security Council's decisions, the main sources of the problem were identified and effects of Security Council's decisions were focused. In the last part, the limitations of the UN Security Council on the peace process and its effects were discussed. Keywords: Palestine, Israel, Security Council, Peace
