Bîrûnî's examine of the studies field of geography

In this study, Birûnî is discussed.Within the scope of the thesis, five of Bîrûnî's works, which have survived to the present day and have been translated into Turkish, have been analyzed. The method of the research is document analysis. These works have been searched using the basic concepts of geography listed earlier. The data obtained by content analysis were classified and frequency tables were created. Accordingly, it was determined which concepts and how often Bîrûnî included in his works. As a result of the findings, it was found that Bîrûnî had knowledge in almost every field of geography and frequently talked about the concepts related to the related fields. According to the findings, it is understood that Bîrûnî's works were given significant geographical information. In addition, it is possible to find many geographical information such as fossil formation, sedimentation, geodetic measurements and calculations, continental movements and the existence of the American continent for the first time in his works.
