Abstract (EN)
The fact that cycling is an outdoor activity requiring physical performance increases the importance of clothing for cycle sport. It can be stated that, with its young and active population, Eskişehir is a quite suitable urban for cycling spesifically with its social-cultural position and terrain conditions. In this study, which was conducted in order to determine the clothing preferences of bicycle users in Eskişehir and to find solutions for possible problems and to bring alternatives to existing clothing preferences, one-on-one interviews were conducted with twenty women who actively cycles in Eskişehir. By using the descriptive analysis method, the problems encountered in cycling wear and the expectations for solution methods were identified and a prototype collection was prepared by using FEA model. Users' responses were divided into "functional", "aesthetic" and "expresssive" subheadings. The collection, which consists of ten looks in total, has been studied according to the climatic characteristics of Eskişehir and according to the Spring / Summer period, which is defined as the most intensive cycling period by the users. Created sketches for looks were presented in digital media drawing software Adobe Illustrator by artistic and technical drawings. Keywords: Bicycle, Woman, Garment, Collection, Design
