A research to determine the businesses in BIST-100 with the compliance of corporate governance principles

Innovations of the technological field in the world have affected the economic, political and social environments, created new economic areas and in parallel with this formation, they created open-ended waves of change in the management and organization of the enterprises. In the face of ever-growing waves of change; firstly it has become more and more difficult for businesses to maintain their assets and then to progress, and the importance of a corporate governance based on transparency, accountability, fairness / equality and responsibility has increased. In this context; to determine the extent to which companies traded in Istanbul comply with corporate governance principles in adapting to the changes in the world and sustaining their existence, the data of the companies in the BIST-100 declared to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) as of 2020 was used in my research. While complying with the corporate governance principles of companies to a certain extent, the Research showed that they should make more effort to explain minority rights, internet sites to offer services in languages that appeal to the world, participation of company employees and stakeholders in management, participation of board members in committees, effectiveness of committees, performance evaluation of the board of directors, ratio of women members, the wages and all other benefits provided to administrative managers on an individual basis.
