Abstract (EN)

Among renewable energy sources, Wind Energy is a clean, reliable, inexhaustible and low-cost energy source. In this study, wind energy potential is evaluated by measuring wind direction, wind speed, temperature, relative humidity and air pressure values in five seconds' interval for one year using a touch screen weather station PCE-FWS 20 type wind energy observation station installed in Bitlis Eren University Rahva campus in 2014. The statistical analysis of the wind energy potential of the measured area is made with the data obtained during this period. Weilbull Distribution was used in the analysis of the wind energy potential of the region. The shape and scale parameters of the Weibull distribution are determined using the graphical method. A Matlab program is developed for use in the analysis and simulation of wind data. The monthly statistical wind energy potential of the region is analyzed and the average wind speed and power density values are found.
