Determination of the amount of packaging waste originated from Bitlis province and determination of the alternative methods to give to the economy

Consumption has increased with the rapid increase of the world population and the economic growth in parallel with this. It is inevitable to see the change in the composition of waste as well as the increase in waste amounts. Diversity has emerged in the types of waste produced with the increase in industrialization day by day, the increase in welfare level and the change in consumption habits accordingly. The first step in the solid waste management process should be precautions which reduce the amount of waste. In this study, it is aimed to determine the amount of packaging waste in Bitlis province which is selected as a pilot region, to evaluate the current methods applied to contribute to the economy and to make suggestions for alternative methods in order to contribute to a cleaner environment.
