Abstract (EN)

Plants have been used in various treatment methods from ancient times to today. In this study, antioxidant and antimicrobial properties, superoxide dismutase and glutathione-s-transferase enzymes activities, Fe, Zn and Cu levels of Plantago lanceolata which was consumed in Bitlis region were investigated. Antioxidant properties were detected by DPHH method and determination of superoxide dismutase and glutathione-s-transferase enzymes activities. When antimicrobial feautures were elevated via disc diffusion method, trace elements levels determined spectrophotometrically. The obtain results showed that the plant samples which obtained from Bitlis have highest antioxidant activity. Besides, its observed that richest content in terms of superoxide dismutase, glutathione-s-transferase activities and trace element content in samples which obtained from Tatvan. In addition, all plant samples showed slight antimicrobial effect on used microorganisms except obtained from Adilcevaz. As a result, the obtained data showed that Plantago lanceolata wich growen in Bitlis region could be an important candidate for further studies.
