Abstract (EN)
Today, recycling of waste materials has become a necessity. Asphalt pavements contain 95% aggregate and bitumen derived from natural resources. Reducing the use of bitumen in the asphalt pavement with Turkey carries a great importance in the national economy because of the country is dependent on foreign oil. In developed countries, the recycling of asphalt is remarkably high. While about 80% recycling of asphalt pavement in such countries especially the US, Germany, France are structured in Turkey the ratio is between about 18-20%. Therefore, studies and researches on the subject should be increased. For this reason, this study was conducted to investigate the re-usability of the asphalt layer excavated from the road again. In the study, bitumen of old asphalt pavements excavated from the road has been obtained and bitumen samples have been prepared by mixing with 50/70 grade bitumen in various ratios. In addition, aging bitumen and centaury oil was used as a rejuvenator, and the rejuvenability of the weight of oil was investigated. After that, bitumen samples were prepared and their performances were examined by mixing new bitumen and aged bitumen oil. Penetration, softening point and ductility tests were performed and their results were compared. The results obtained from various Marshall Experiments were compared with each other.
