Abstract (EN)

The increasing number of people in the world, advances in technology, and people's desire for a comfortable life have increased the number of motor vehicles. Environmental health problems resulting from the increase in the use of fossil fuels with the increasing number of vehicles have led countries to seek new alternative, environmentally friendly fuels. In this study; The effects of adding biodiesel, n-butanol and methanol to diesel fuel on engine performance and emissions were investigated experimentally. The experiments were carried out on a single cylinder diesel engine at four different engine loads. Diesel, DB (70%diesel+30% biodiesel), DBB10 (DB+10% n-butanol), DBB15 (DB+15%n-butanol), DBM10 (DB+10% methanol) and DBM15 (DB+15% methanol) were used as test fuels in the experiments used. As a result, 30% biodiesel addition to diesel fuel, 10% and 15% additions of n-butanol and methanol to DB fuel separately decreased engine power and increased the OYT value. In the DBM15 fuel mixture, the power value was obtained on average 4.22% lower than DBB15, 13.6% lower than DB and 16.74% lower than Diesel fuel. Addition of 30% biodiesel to diesel fuel decreased HC, CO and soot emissions while increasing NOx emissions. HC and CO emission values of DB fuel were 19.41% and 16.13% lower, respectively, compared to diesel fuel. The addition of n-butanol to the DB fuel mixture reduced CO emissions and increased NOx emissions compared to DB fuel. The addition of 10% and 15% methanol to the DB fuel mixture increased the HC and CO emissions compared to the DB fuel and decreased the NOx emission. Additions of n-butanol and methanol to the DB fuel mixture reduced soot emissions at all loads.
