Abstract (EN)

In this study, the effects of piston on the internal combustion diesel engine with different coating materials were investigated. Biodiesel has been preferred as a fuel from the work done. The piston surface and valves are coated with zirconium, nickel - chromium and nickel - aluminum interfacial material with aluminum oxide by plasma spray coating method. For each experiment, the engine oil was renewed to detect the wear elements. Wear elements in oil have been analyzed. The engine was observed with the help of a thermal camera, and the temperature differences were physically compared. The sample of the coated and uncoated piston were evaluated by SEM and EDX analyzes. In each experiment, fuel consumption and engine block temperature were monitored. In this piston specific study, the wear conditions of the combustion chamber components were investigated.
