Investigate the color pigment production using biomass

Abstract (EN)

In this study, production and characterization of colored ceramic pigment are intended by using biomass waste. Quartz which is a very economical source of inorganic mineral and supplied easily compared to other raw materials, was used with the addition nutshells as biomass waste, Fe2O3 and Cr2O3. In studies, it was improved two different combinations and examined effect that pigments of the color quality of different calcination temperatures and stability of the glazed structure. Pigments were produced by using solid state reaction method, analyzed with devices that names are XRD for phase analysis, EDX for elemental analysis and have been identified and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) using the images were captured. The obtained pigments were added to certain proportions in double firing wall tile glaze pigment and cooked in industrial ceramic kilns. Color quality and stability of the pigments were examined. Consequently, the wall tile glaze composition with addition of chromium oxide in different shades of green colored pigments can be used successfully produced, the addition of iron oxide has not been made transparent pigments.
