Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, magnetic nanoparticles (Si-MNP) were synthesized with silica obtained from agricultural waste rice husk. This prepared nanoparticle was used for the removal of Brilliant Blue G (PMG) dye, which is widely used in the textile industry, from aqueous solutions. Si-MNP was characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Brunauer, Emmet and Teller (BET), scanning electron microscope (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometer (FT-IR) and zeta potential. pH, adsorbent amount, contact time and temperature, PMG concentration and adsorption-desorption cycle in batch system, adsorbent amount, flow rate and breakpoint parameters in continuous system were investigated. Adsorption kinetics were analyzed using pseudo-first-order, pseudo-second-order and intra-particle diffusion kinetic models. Adsorption isotherm was calculated using the Langmuir, Freundlich and Dubinin-Radushkevich (D-R) isotherm models. Adsorption thermodynamics was studied at three different temperatures. Salt effect and real wastewater studies were conducted to observe the usability of Si-MNP in real wastewater conditions.
