Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, biochar was obtained at different temperatures (400, 500, 600 °C) and reaction times (15, 30, 60 ve 120 min) via pyrolysis from a furniture industry waste- oak sawdust. Biochar was characterized to investigate their utilization as a soil amendment. According to slow pyrolysis experiments, biochar produced at 500 °C and reaction time of 120 min was prefered to generate seven biochar-mineral complexes that have enhanced soil-amending properties by blending with chicken litter and clay minerals under various ratios. The obtained biochar-mineral complexes were characterized and a-45-day incubation experiment was performed to examine the effect on the soil. During the incubation, soil samples collected on the specific days and they were characterized. According to results of all analyses, it is found that environmentally friendly soil amendment products can be obtained from biomass by thermochemical methods.
