Biomorphic-organic forms and their perceptions in space

The thesis which I named ?Perception of Biomorphic-Organic Forms in Space? aims to question the meaning of the concept ?bimorphism?, how organic formed art objects are processed and the position and effects of these objects inside buildings. In the first part ?biomorphism? as a concept and its meaning in different terminologies will be dealt with. Biomorphism is based on different concepts. It was born together with Surrealism and it also carries the affects of Art Nouveau. In the second part, how plastic arts sees biomorphism and how it is related to fine arts will be dwelt on. The important artists in this philosophy and their works of art will be dealt with one by one. The communication between the viewer and the works of art in biomorphic forms will be discussed and with the abstraction of these forms the new meaning which they have taken will be taken into account. The third part will be about the natura theme which underlies the concept of biomorphism and which has a great role in the formation of the concept. Art and how it is related to nature will be mentioned and the important artistic result which is land art will be mentioned about with its artists and their works of art. In the fourth part how human thoughts and perceptions are formed will be taken into consideration. As it is known that the development of architecture is not free from the thoughts and perceptions of society, the different perceptions of space in society and their places in plastic arts will be discussed. The effects of the stereotyped perceptions and an indifferent lifestyle formed as a result of alienation to nature on space and the effect of space on these perceptions and lifestyle will be analysed. In the fifth part , by breaking the prejudices of viewers with surprise organic forms in different dimensions and material will be combined with space and the resulting effect will be examined. In the sixth part the biomorphic elements in Elvan Serin?s works will be dealt with and how these forms reflect the inner world of the artist will be questionned.
