Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to examine the sportsmanship and behavior levels of bocce athletes and, based on the results obtained, to develop effective strategies to improve these behaviors. A general survey model was used in the study, which aims to describe and analyze a current situation as it is. The research group consisted of 300 athletes actively participating in bocce in the 2024-2025 academic year. The data collection tool consisted of three parts. The first part included a personal information form containing demographic information, the second part included the "Multidimensional Sportsmanship Behavior Scale (MSBS)," and the third part included the "Prosocial and Antisocial Behavior in Sports Scale." This study aims to fill this gap by analyzing how the sportsmanship and behavior levels of bocce athletes are affected by their age, educational status, duration of bocce sports practice, and national identity. The research findings indicate that variables such as gender, age, and frequency of sports practice have a significant impact on the sportsmanship and behavior levels of bocce athletes. However, educational background does not have a significant impact on athletes' sportsmanship and behavioral levels. This suggests that sportsmanship behaviors are similar regardless of athletes' educational background. This study ultimately highlights the importance of examining sportsmanship and behavioral levels in bocce athletes, and is crucial for developing these behaviors and developing new strategies.
