Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of this study is to investigate the physical and physiological effects of repeated sprint training (RST) and high-intensity interval training (HIIT) applied to athletes competing in the Bocce-Volo discipline. In line with this determined purpose, the study group, which was carried out using a controlled experimental research model, consists of 18 elite volo athletes. Within the scope of the research, normal training (NA) was applied to the athletes in Group 1, RST was applied to the athletes in Group 2, and HIIT was applied to the athletes in Group 3. In this context, there are 6 athletes in each training group. In addition to all these, within the scope of the current research, jump and step frequency measurement, heart rate sensor, portable lactate analyzer, body composition analyzer were used as data collection tools. The analysis of the data obtained within the scope of the research was carried out in the SPSS 27.0 program, and non-parametric test methods were used as the analysis method. As a result of the analyses performed; It has been revealed that HIIT and RST applications caused a statistically significant decrease in the resting heart rate, resting lactate and post-training heart rate values of the athletes, while providing a significant increase in their jumping performance. In addition, it was determined that the body mass index (BMI) values of the athletes who applied HIIT training were lower compared to the other groups. When compared to the athletes who were subjected to a normal training program, it was determined that HIIT and interval training applications significantly improved jumping performance. In this context, this result obtained within the scope of the research shows that high intensity training models are an effective method especially in terms of increasing anaerobic performance and improving body composition.
