Body wei̇ght after sheari̇ng, greasy fleece wei̇ght and trai̇ts of Ramliç and Dağliç sheep

This research was carried out to investigate the body weights after shearing, greasy fleece weight, fleece traits and the factors affecting them in Dağlıç and Ramlıç sheep. In this study, 296 heads Ramlıç and 232 heads Dağlıç sheep and fleece were used. The research was carried out in four farmer's herds in 2015 Least squares means for body weights after shearing, greasy fleece weight, staple length, fiber length and fleece percentage were determined 64,08±0,521 kg, 3,07±0,051 kg, 5,89±0,068 cm, 8,84±0,145 cm and 73,21±0,980% in Ramlıç. The effect of herd for greasy fleece weight, staple length, fiber length and fleece percentage were found significant (p<0,05; p<0,01; p<0,001). The age of affected body weights after shearing, greasy fleece weight and staple length (p<0,01; p<0,001). The general means for body weights after shearing, greasy fleece weight, staple length, fiber length and fleece percentage were determined 47,78±0,442 kg, 1,63±0,036 kg, 9,84±0,149 cm, 13,62±0,250 cm and 73,75±0,822 % in Dağlıç. The effect of herd for body weights after shearing and staple length were found significant (p<0,001). The age of affected body weights after shearing, greasy fleece weight and fleece percentage (p<0,05; p<0,01; p<0,001). As a result, the medium size of Ramlıç bred for body weights after shearing, while Dağlıç in previous studies although was higher than the reported value was made small compared to other native sheep breeds. Furthermore, it has been concluded that Ramlıç and Dağlıç fleece can be used in carpetindustry.
