Abstract (EN)
The aim of the study was to examine the relationship between the conscious awareness levels of Turkish boxers and their threat and challenge levels in sports depending on various parameters. In this context, the universe of the study consisted of licensed boxers who actively participated in boxing competitions in 2024, while the sample group consisted of athletes determined from the universe by the convenience sampling method. Three separate forms were directed to this sample group in order to collect data. These are; Personal Information Form, Conscious Awareness Scale in Sports and Challenge and Threat Scale in Sports. The data obtained through all these forms were analyzed in SPSS (version 26) software. At this stage, in addition to descriptive statistics, t-test and ANOVA were used to determine the differences between the groups from parametric tests, while Pearson correlation and regression analysis were applied from relationship tests. As a result of the tests conducted through the relevant tests, differences between the groups were found in the sub-dimensions of the conscious awareness scale in sports depending on the boxers' gender, national athlete status and their performance evaluations during the season. At the same time, relationships were determined depending on the scale sub-dimensions and age and sports age variables. In threat and challenge scores, only differences between groups were found depending on gender and the variables of evaluating their performance during the season. It was determined that there was a negative low level relationship between the threat sub-dimension and the total scale score, a positive low level relationship between the challenge sub-dimension and awareness and the total scale score, and a positive medium level relationship between the refocusing sub-dimension. As a result of the regression analysis, it was concluded that the awareness and refocusing sub-dimensions and the total scale score were statistically significant predictors of the threat and challenge scores of the boxers.
