Abstract (EN)
This study aimed to examine the relationship between boxers' perception of gender in sports and their sportsmanship orientation based on various parameters. In this context, the research population consisted of boxers who were actively licensed in 2025 and participated in at least national-level competitions. The sample group consisted of 268 boxers selected from the population using a convenience sampling method. Three different forms were administered to this sample group during data collection: a Demographic Information Form, a Gender Perception in Sports Scale, and a Multidimensional Sportsmanship Orientation Scale. The raw data obtained through all these forms were subjected to various analysis techniques in SPSS (version 26) software. In this phase of the research, in addition to descriptive statistics, parametric tests such as the t-test and ANOVA were used to determine intergroup differences, while the Mann-Whitney U test was used for non-parametric groups. Pearson correlation analysis was used for relationship tests. As a result of the tests conducted using these tests, it was determined that the boxers' gender perception scores; Statistically significant findings were observed regarding gender, age, years of experience in sports, and the gender of the current coach. Statistically significant findings were also found regarding the participants' average sportsmanship scores, depending on gender, national team status, age, and the gender of the current coach. Furthermore, relationships were found between the total scores of both scales and their sub-dimensions. However, no statistically significant relationship was found between the total scores of the scales. In other words, no relationship was found between boxers' perceptions of gender in sports and their sportsmanship orientation. In conclusion, it can be said that boxers' perceptions of gender in sports and their sportsmanship orientation may differ depending on various parameters, but there is no relationship between the two variables.
