Abstract (EN)

It has been observed that Regional Development Agencies, in the globalization process, are increasing their significance both national and regional level as well as at the international level and are being uploaded with new missions with each passing day. The fact of the necessity of realizing social welfare in not only at national level but also at the regional level has encouraged nation-states to seek new development policy instruments. Within this scope, the Regional Development Agencies can be used as an important and effective tool in eliminating regional disparities. This paper focuses on what level Regional Development Agencies in Turkey are used as an effective tool in removing regional disparities by supporting projects and activities for the elimination of regional disparities. It also focuses on how they contribute to Turkey's regional development at macro-economic level and the level of regional indicators. In the process of the study, regional development, regional disparities and regional policies along with written sources of supports projects and activities of Regional Development Agencies have been reviewed. Related articles, books, and the statistical data were analyzed and the findings were eventually brought together. Finally, the evaluations have been made in this regard.
