The investigation of fisheries management and violations in Bolu province between the years of 2016-2019

In this study, fisheries violations detected by the control and inspection data of the Bolu Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry within the provincial borders of Bolu between 2016-2019 were examined. Between 2016 and 2019, 2486 inspections were carried out in Bolu province and 185 violations were detected. When inspections and violations in the districts of Bolu are examined; it was observed that the most audits were carried out in the Merkez district (1246) and the least in the Kıbrıscık district (15). While the highest number of violations occurred in Seben district (83), no violations were detected in Mudurnu, Gerede, Kıbrıscık and Dörtdivan districts. Considering the nature of the violation, it was seen that the most violation of amateur hunting was observed (127), the least was not providing information and documents (1) and the sale of prohibited fishery products (1). The highest amount of administrative fines was imposed for illegal amateur (recreational) fishing (49.474 ₺). When the confiscated fishery products were examined, it was observed that the most carp (240.25 kg) were seized, and the least perch (0.25 kg) were seized. According to captured fishing gears, the angling gears are the most ones by a number of 62. Because of the most important violation was the illegal amateur angling fishery, it is thought to be useful to take more precautions about it. For this purpose, a certain training including prohibitions and limits can be given by requiring the amateur fishing certificate. In addition, among the measures may be the employment of more fisheries engineers and tol et the regional guardian system makes an important deterrence on the ongoing violations.
