Abstract (EN)

In this study, two molecular marker technologies (RAPD and SSR) and morphological characters were utilized to determine the taxonomic relationships of 29 Trifolium L. taxa found in Bolu province. In molecular parts, 11 RAPD and 5 SSR primers were selected to reveal the genetic relationships of interspecies. After evaluations of band profiles, it was observed that all primers gave high polymorphism. Three UPGMA dendrograms were drawn in NTSYS program based on individual RAPD, SSR and combined molecular data. According to these dendrograms, all the members of Trifolium section were separated clearly from the remaining section members. Though, some differences were found in classification of taxa below section levels. In morphological study, 18 quantitative and 8 qualitative characters were selected. An UPGMA dendrogram was drawn in PHYLIP program with the data obtained from these characters. In the results of dendrogram based on morphological data, it was understood that the characters could not provide a clear separation in sectional ranks. Besides, using a large numbers of molecular markers in such kind of taxonomic studies were found to be more reliable.
