Determination of some elements in boron industrial waste by ICP-MS and investigation of the microstructural properties

Abstract (EN)

In this study, some trace elements (Arsenic(As), Rubidium(Rb), Cesium(Cs)) and (Bor(B) element were determined by inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) method in boron waste samples taken from western Anatolia region. The results obtained showed that even Boron waste samples contain high amounts of Boron element, and the average Boron concentration of ten waste samples was measured as (1000.05 ± 0.03) ppm. Similarly, the concentrations of other trace elements were respectively; Arsenic ( As) (8.74±0.04), Rubidium (Rb) (0.99±0.03), Cesium (Cs) (2.19±0.05) ppm. Rubidium and Cesium elements with high value have a special importance to our study by drawing attention to their high content. In the second part of our study, the microstructural characteristics of these waste samples were investigated. And the obtained X-Ray Diffractometry (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) analyses When evaluated, it was determined that there are plenty of Silicon (Si), Oxygen (O), Carbon (C), Aluminum (Al) and Calcium (Ca) minerals in the measured samples.
