Abstract (EN)
Natural resources are one of the four essential factor for production. With the technological progress developed by the countries today the functionality of natural resources is also increasing in parallel. Boron mines are difficult to exract from underground. But with progressive technology patterns it has become a resource in demand in many production areas. Boron mines are processed not only in high-tech areas but also in daily life, is important for Turkey and world economy. İn this research, we investigated the importance of boron mine and Turkey's position in the world market. Turkey has two-third of the world's boron reserves. Because of that boron metal products searched, usage areas compared and products used as input revealed. During the period set about the study, development of boron mine and its products according to years has been examined. Meanwhile Turkey's place in the world market analyzed in comparison with the figures and tables. Finally SWOT of boron economy in Turkey explained with in the form of substances about strong-weak and opportunity- threat.
